Google CC vs Mapa: family agent compared
Google’s CC family agent is US-only and waitlisted. Mapa works from any email, paper or voice note. Here’s how they compare.
Short answer
Google CC is a Google Labs experiment, launched Sep 17, 2026, that turns emails you share from Gmail into a shared Google Calendar, a task list and a morning brief. It’s US-only, for adults with a personal Google account, and has a waitlist. Mapa works now from any forwarded email, photo or voice note, with one adult’s name on every job.
What CC is and who can get it
We checked Google’s launch blog on Oct 7, 2026. The CC FAQ required sign-in, so this comparison uses facts supported by the public launch blog.
Google first introduced a personal version of CC in December 2025. This comparison covers the household version announced in September 2026.
Google’s blog, dated Sep 17, 2026, introduces the new CC as a Google Labs experiment for families. Emails you choose to share become a shared Google Calendar, a task list, and a morning brief called “Your Day Ahead.”
How each one gets your info
With CC, each member chooses which senders to share, or sends a message directly to CC. Google’s blog says members receive a private list of new senders each week that they can choose to share. Members can also send a photo by email or Google Chat, share Drive files, or add CC to a Calendar.
Mapa has no inbox connection. You forward a school email from any account, snap a photo, or send a voice note. Suggestions from a forwarded email wait until an adult says OK. Photos and PDFs sent in the chat save straight away, and you can undo them.
Mapa does not pre-fill a PDF. From a form you snap, it can keep the due date and the job. Google’s pages do not say CC puts one adult’s name on each task. In Mapa, every job has one.

Choose CC if…
- The adults who need it are 18 or older, in the US, and use personal Google accounts.
- You want approved school senders to land on a shared Google Calendar and a shared task list, plus a morning brief.
- You want a PDF pre-filled for you to review, and you are fine signing and sending it yourself.
- A waitlist is acceptable.
Choose Mapa if…
- Your partner uses Outlook, iCloud, or a school account, not Gmail.
- A lot of the paperwork is paper, a photo, or something you would rather say out loud.
- You want one adult’s name on every job, and you want it this week rather than after a waitlist.
- You want vaccine and allergy records kept with the original photo.
- You would rather choose each email yourself than approve senders inside Gmail.
What Mapa doesn’t do
- Pre-fill, sign, or submit a PDF. You still fill out and sign the form.
- Read your inbox, or pull in every sender you approve. It only sees what you forward or send.
- Import from Google CC or any other app.
- Google Calendar and iCloud sync are built but still being tested. Mapa has its own shared calendar and can export an .ics file.
- A reminder you can count on today. The home page says email delivery and reminders are still being tested.
- A native iPhone or Android app. Today Mapa is a web app you can put on your home screen.
- A promise that it is available in every country. Mapa is in early access, written first for families in the US.
